What this study is about
This trial is testing if non-invasive ventilation helps reduce the need for intubation in people with cancer and respiratory failure. Respiratory failure means not enough oxygen gets into the blood, which is common in patients with hematological and solid tumor diseases. Non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV) uses a mask to deliver oxygen. It compares NIPPV to standard high flow oxygen to see if it improves oxygen levels, reduces shortness of breath, and lowers the need for intubation.
